MACHINE SAFETY ENGINEER/DESIGNER

The mandate of the Machine Safety Engineer/Designer is to participate in the different phases of risk management on automated and robotic production systems with the basis of industry safety regulations.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Risk analysis and reporting;
Researching appropriate solutions to identified risks;
Electrical design, approval of drawings and designs;
Preparation of risk reduction strategies, follow-up of designs, organization and coordination of machine safety projects;
Purchasing and acquisition of project materials;
Follow-ups of site installations;
Participating in quoting machine safety projects;
Development of system operating documents.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
An Engineering degree in a pertinent field and the candidate must be a member of the OIQ;
Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) an asset;
A minimum amount of experience in machine safety; knowledge of machine safety regulations in Canada is an asset;
Bilingualism (French and English);
Able to read electrical diagrams/plans, knowledge of energy transmission systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, electric) that may be involved in industrial machinery;
Knowledge of provincial Health & Safety laws and regulations;
Able to travel and complete work outside of the province of Québec;
Strong knowledge and extensive experience using Microsoft Office suite;
Knowledge and previous experience with AutoCAD software is an asset.
